Ed Sheeran says situation in Gaza is ‘catastrophic and unjustifiable’ as he opens concert

Ed Sheeran opened a Philadelphia concert by describing the situation in Gaza as catastrophic and unjustifiable. He addressed the controversy surrounding Macklemore, who was dropped from the tour after making pro-Palestinian comments, leading other supporting acts to withdraw in solidarity. Sheeran stated that October 7 was horrific and compounded centuries of Jewish pain. He emphasized that his music and shows should focus on unity and humanity rather than politics while acknowledging the current crisis in Palestine.
