Lula is re-elected Brazil’s president in knife-edge election

President Lula, the 80-year-old left-wing leader, has been re-elected for a fourth term as Brazil's president. He secured victory over Flávio Bolsonaro in a bitterly contested runoff and knife-edge election. This outcome represents a significant blow to the goals of Trump, who aimed for greater US influence across Latin America. The election results confirm Lula's return to power after defeating his opponent in a highly competitive political battle for the leadership of Brazil.
