Euro Cinema Body UNIC Says EU Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery Deal Approval Conditions “Should Have Gone Further”

The European Commission has officially approved the proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance. While the merger is now closer to reality, the International Union of Cinemas, representing exhibitors across 39 European territories, expressed dissatisfaction with the decision. The UNIC stated that the conditions imposed by the European Commission for the approval of the Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery deal should have gone further to adequately address the concerns of cinema exhibitors.
