David Rivera sentenced to 10 years in Venezuela lobbying case

Former GOP Rep. David Rivera was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted on all federal counts. The charges stemmed from a secret lobbying campaign conducted for the government of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Rivera was found guilty of conspiracy to commit money laundering and failing to register as a foreign agent. He has remained jailed since the jury reached its verdict in May regarding his illegal work for the Venezuelan state.
