FastMCP has transitioned to MCPServer within the MCP Python SDK 2.x, requiring migration for AWS MCP servers managing Gemma 4 E2B on Amazon EC2 G5g instances. This update caused ModuleNotFoundError in environments using mcp 2.2.0. Separately, MCP RTK has been developed as a Rust-based MCP proxy. It optimizes token usage for Claude Code by filtering oversized JSON responses from MCP servers like GitLab and Grafana, saving over 267 million tokens across 38,000 commands.
