FDA approves 1st mRNA flu shot, from Moderna

The FDA has approved mFlusiva, the first flu shot using mRNA technology from Moderna. Although the agency initially refused to review the application, it reversed its decision following a public outcry. This authorization marks the first time an mRNA-based influenza vaccine has been approved in the United States. The drugmaker Moderna now has regulatory clearance for the product after the agency's change in course regarding the initial application review process for the vaccine.
