Recent events in LINCOLN, NE, highlight community activities and gratitude. On February 23, 2020, Mason Schmailzl attended the I Love My Dog Expo at the Lancaster Event Center with Joey, a Dane heeler pit mix. By April 2020, public displays of appreciation for essential workers emerged. A sign thanking grocery store workers and bankers appeared at Holdrege and 52nd Street, while the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center displayed a Heroes Work Here sign on April 9.
