Warsh Needs to Respond to Rising Inflation, George Says

Former Kansas City Fed President Esther George stated that Kevin Warsh faces pressure to signal how the Fed will address inflation, which has stopped cooling and is not moving in the desired direction. Speaking at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, Warsh warned that inflation is not meaningfully slowing. He emphasized that policymakers must be confident in its decline, otherwise, the central bank still has work to do to reach the 2% target.
