Flock camera locations revealed on MapQuest’s new Surveillance Layer

MapQuest has launched a new Surveillance Layer that identifies the locations of license plate readers and surveillance cameras. This feature includes hardware from eleven vendors, such as Flock Safety, Motorola Solutions, Axon, and Verkada. The update arrives following a federal judge's description of a major camera network as indiscriminate mass surveillance and a surge in local contract cancellations. Users can toggle this layer in Map Options to help them avoid ALPR cameras and other surveillance systems.
