Flock announces changes amid backlash over its license plate reader network

Flock Safety announced platform changes on Thursday following backlash over its nationwide network of automatic license plate readers. CEO Garrett Langley unveiled these updates amid accusations that the system creates a surveillance state violating constitutional rights. The company operates over 120,000 active cameras across 49 states, with contracts spanning more than 6,000 municipalities.
