ABC News and Fox News report that the Democratic Party has secured a majority in the U.S. Senate and control of Congress. This historic blue wave in the 2026 midterm elections included a sweep of the House. Factors contributing to this result include President Donald Trump's job approval dropping to 38%, driven by inflation, tariffs, and the Iran war. Democrats won several key races to establish their dominance across both legislative chambers during these elections.
