France to arm Ukraine with 16 Rafale jets and missile licenses

President Emmanuel Macron announced that Ukraine agreed to a plan to acquire 16 Rafale fighter jets and accompanying weapon systems, with deliveries beginning in 2028. Alongside these aircraft and air-defense equipment, France will provide licenses allowing Ukraine to manufacture French-designed cruise missiles, guided bombs, and air defense interceptors on Ukrainian soil. This agreement marks the first specific delivery window provided by French officials for the fighter jets to support Ukraine's military operations.
