Tokyo Film Festival Adds Nippon Cinema Now Competition, Crosscut Asia+ Section, New Award Honoring Women in Film

The Tokyo International Film Festival, running from October 26 to November 4, is introducing three new initiatives. These include the Nippon Cinema Now section, which will feature a Best Film prize and a Special Jury Prize judged by Japanese and international experts. Additionally, the festival is launching the Kashiko Kawakita Award to honor women in cinema. Finally, the Crosscut Asia section returns in a new format called Crosscut Asia+, focusing specifically on Southeast Asia cinema.
