Afterlight: Ghost in the Machine 👻

Two distinct projects were submitted for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 4: Ghost in the Machine. Afterlight is a browser-based supernatural storytelling studio utilizing open-weight AI to create atmospheric ghost stories based on user-selected premises and moods. Simultaneously, another submission features a privacy-first local RAG microservice built with FastAPI. This tool eliminates cloud dependencies by running vector indexing and retrieval locally to avoid network latency, subscription costs, and data privacy concerns associated with third-party endpoints.
