Google Maps Complete Male Fruit Fly Connectome, While DOOMFLY Tests Control Potential

Google Research, HHMI Janelia, and the FlyEM project have published the largest brain map by neuron count to date. This complete wiring diagram of the adult male Drosophila melanogaster central nervous system includes approximately 166,000 neurons and 125 million synapses. This neuroscience resource enables researchers to study how neural circuits convert sensory inputs into actions. Additionally, the DOOMFLY project utilizes this connectome data in an experimental pipeline to drive the game Doom as a control test.
