Houston Mayor John Whitmire, police chief ask Texas Rangers for independent investigation into deadly ICE shooting

Houston Mayor John Whitmire and the police chief requested an independent investigation into a deadly ICE shooting. Governor Greg Abbott also called for the Texas Rangers to conduct the probe. According to DPS, the Texas Rangers will investigate the incident alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security. Although the Texas Rangers did not have access to the initial scene, they are now coordinating with federal authorities to examine the fatal shooting.
