Governor Josh Green and Mayor Rick Blangiardi appeared at Blaisdell Arena on Friday to honor the band Journey for 52 years of music. Blangiardi declared September 5 and 6 as a local celebration in Honolulu, while Green extended the recognition to the entire state. Guitarist Neal Schon thanked both officials and the fans for their support. Separately, Kingston Green, a running back for Manchester West, performed during a Friday night game against Kennett.
