A vegetation fire, called the Carbon Fire, ignited near Carbon Canyon and Olinda Place in Brea around 1:37 p.m., expanding to about 40 acres. Orange County authorities issued evacuation warnings, closed roads, and dispatched firefighters to contain the blaze.
