Case fends off challenge from his left in Hawaii Democratic House primary

Rep. Ed Case, a centrist Democrat representing Hawaii's first congressional district since 2019, secured his party's nomination for reelection on Saturday. The 73-year-old incumbent defeated 42-year-old state Senator Jarrett Keohokalole, a progressive challenger who campaigned for a new generation of leadership. Case, described as one of the most conservative Democrats in Congress, fended off this challenge from the left to retain his seat, while Democrats also secured other key statewide victories in Hawaii.
