Hegseth announces joint task force to identify and prosecute leakers

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Monday that the Pentagon and the Justice Department (DOJ) have established a joint task force. This initiative aims to identify and prosecute leakers as part of a broader effort to clamp down on the disclosure of sensitive information. Under this new arrangement, the Defense Department’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) will be authorized to request assistance in targeting and prosecuting those responsible for press leaks of classified data.
