Emmys to Move Five Categories Out of NBC Telecast In a Bid to Revamp the Ceremony (EXCLUSIVE)

The Television Academy Board of Governors voted to revamp the primetime Emmy telecast on September 14 by reducing the number of awarded categories. Five categories, including Writing for a variety series and supporting actor and actress, will now be shifted to the Creative Arts Emmys ceremonies held on September 5 and 6.
