ByteDance has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Motion Picture Association to enhance copyright protections for its AI image and video generators, including the Seedance tool. This pact ends a standoff following accusations from major US studios regarding wholesale infringement. The agreement follows a February cease-and-desist letter from Disney, which accused the TikTok owner of pirating Marvel and Star Wars characters.
