Republican-controlled committee refers former Trump prosecutor Jack Smith for criminal investigation

A Republican-controlled House judiciary committee referred former special counsel Jack Smith for criminal investigation. Committee chair Jim Jordan informed acting US attorney general Todd Blanche that Smith made willfully false statements during testimony about obtaining phone records. Smith previously led two criminal investigations into Donald Trump.
