HP Fined $14 Million For 'Cartelization' of Ink Cartridges, Toner, PCs

India's Competition Commission fined HP India and its partners approximately 1.4 billion rupees for cartelization. The CCI alleged that HP colluded with five resellers to coordinate bid prices for government contracts to ensure partner victories. Additionally, the company fixed prices for ink cartridges, toner, and PCs to outcompete other OEMs. This strategy aimed to discourage resellers from selling counterfeit printing supplies. HP received a total penalty of about $14.4 million for these anti-competitive practices.
