Hurricane Marie to lash Southern California with dangerous surf

Hurricane Marie is generating a powerful ocean swell expected to hit Southern California this weekend. The National Weather Service in Los Angeles issued a High Surf Advisory for Ventura and Los Angeles counties from Saturday morning until Tuesday night, warning of rip currents and coastal flooding. Additionally, while the storm is predicted to weaken, there is a possibility that California could experience rare tropical rain as moisture from Hurricane Marie and two other Pacific storms moves inland.
