ICE plans to give officers gloves that can deliver electric shocks

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plans to spend between $10 million and $20 million to provide Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers with Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter (G.L.O.V.E.) devices. These electroshock gloves deliver painful, bee sting-like shocks to gain compliance from combative individuals and aid in de-escalation. To utilize this equipment, officers must complete a specific training course and undergo recertification every two years, according to the manufacturer and official DHS notices.
