ICE will release body camera video only when seen in the agency’s ‘best interests,’ policy says

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is preparing to equip its officers with body cameras within the next two months. However, the agency's official policy grants it broad control over the distribution of recorded footage. According to the guidelines, ICE will only publicly release body camera video when it is deemed to be in the agency's best interests. Consequently, the public should not expect the rapid release of footage following every critical incident involving the agency's personnel.
