ICEYE and Nokia team up on sovereign satellite internet

ICEYE and Nokia have partnered to develop broadband satellite communications systems designed for sovereign government ownership and operation. These systems will utilize satellites in low Earth orbit to provide critical connectivity for defense and security purposes. The collaboration aims to enable governments to run their own independent networks. According to the companies, the first satellites under this joint initiative are expected to launch in 2028, enhancing sovereign capabilities in satellite-based internet and secure communications.
