Takeaways From the First Maine Senate Debate Between Susan Collins and Troy Jackson

Senator Susan Collins and Democratic challenger Troy Jackson clashed during Maine's first Senate debate. Collins emphasized her differences with President Donald Trump, stating she is not his favorite senator, as she sought to distance herself from his policies. The debate covered topics including ICE and Trump. Meanwhile, Jackson declined to confirm his ties to the DSA. Collins remains one of the most vulnerable Republicans in the midterms, representing a state won by Kamala Harris in 2024.
