Intel fortifies Foundry with an actual customer: Fortinet

Intel Foundry has secured Fortinet as a customer to co-develop and manufacture the next-generation FortiSP6 firewall ASIC. This collaboration marks the first named external customer for the Intel 4 node. The project will leverage Intel's expertise in advanced packaging and disaggregated semiconductor design to safeguard Fortinet's custom ASIC production. This partnership enables Fortinet to utilize homegrown silicon for its firewall technology, strengthening Intel Foundry's position in the custom semiconductor market through this strategic win.
