Iran closes Strait of Hormuz over ceasefire violations, state media reports

Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz following Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon. Despite this, U.S. Central Command reported that 55 merchant ships transited the area on Saturday. Tehran indicated that negotiators are heading to Switzerland for talks with the United States concerning their interim agreement. However, Iranian officials warned that these discussions are unlikely to achieve significant results unless the ongoing fighting in Lebanon ceases immediately to ensure regional stability.
