Iran War Has Cost U.S. Nearly $40 Billion and Fueled Inflation, CBO Finds

Estimates suggest the conflict will continue to cost between $2 billion and $3 billion every month. However, the CBO noted that its analysis was limited because the Defense Department failed to respond to requests for specific information regarding the costs of the conflict, as also highlighted by the Independent Budget Office's $38 billion estimate.
