Cost of Iran War Estimated at $43.6 Billion

The Pentagon reported that the seven-month war on Iran cost American taxpayers approximately $45.1 billion up until September 3. According to CENTCOM estimates provided to Congress, $28.1 billion was spent replacing munitions, $11.2 billion on general operations, $4.3 billion on lost weapons, and $1.5 billion on fuel. An additional $28 billion is required for further munition replacement. Congressional officials suggest these figures are low, as they exclude massive damage to U.S. military bases in the Middle East.
