Jalapeños linked to a US salmonella outbreak are tracked to a Mexican farm and a distributor

Federal officials traced a multistate salmonella outbreak to jalapeño peppers from a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico. At least 345 people across 27 states have fallen ill, with the majority of cases reported in Minnesota and Colorado. While no deaths occurred, 36 individuals were hospitalized. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified Coast Citrus Distributors as the company that moved the contaminated chili peppers into the U.S. as part of the distribution chain.
