Appointed by Tom Cibrowski, president of the Skydance news unit, Tower succeeds Shawna Thomas, who departed in March. This leadership change follows a recent revamp of the program, which saw the return of Norah O Donnell as co-host in September, where she joins Nate Burleson to lead the morning-news broadcast for the network.
