A user successfully installed NixOS on a Jetorbit VPS using nixos-anywhere, deploying the setup from a macOS laptop running nix-darwin. The x86_64 Linux server utilizes legacy BIOS and a static IP. All configurations are managed on the laptop and pushed via SSH using nixos-rebuild, eliminating the need for local configuration files on the VPS. This workflow prevents config drift and ensures the server remains fully reproducible without using traditional tools like apt update.
