While jury duty is often viewed as merely annoying, it can be significantly more severe. A 2016 review of research concerning juries revealed that as many as 50% of jurors experienced trauma-related symptoms. For some of these individuals, the psychological effects persisted for several months. This data highlights that the experience of serving on a jury can lead to substantial trauma for a large portion of the participants involved in the legal process.
