See for yourself the difference the wider aperture of the iPhone 18 Pro makes

The iPhone 18 Pro features a main camera with a wider aperture and a variable aperture lens, designed by Apple to enable a shallower depth of field for portraits. While the aperture increase is less than a stop, tests were conducted to determine its real-life impact on the small sensor. Additionally, the device's night video capabilities were tested during a rare event involving a cruise liner passing through Tower Bridge to evaluate low-light performance.
