Man fatally shot near Ford City Mall

Martin Murillo, a 21-year-old from South Bend, Indiana, died after being shot near Ford City Mall on South Cicero Avenue around 2:50 a.m. Saturday. The victim suffered a head wound and was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center. The assailant fled in a red SUV, and no arrests have been made. Meanwhile, an alderman expressed safety concerns as a Cook County judge ordered the mall to shut down later this month following city complaints.
