Keanu Reeves to Star in Netflix Action Movie ‘Maelstrom’ After Alan Ritchson Drops Out

Keanu Reeves will star in the Netflix action movie Maelstrom, taking over the role after Alan Ritchson dropped out. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film follows a Federal Marshal protecting an arms dealer's fiancée who is seeking witness protection to testify. Originally conceived in the 1990s as a Die Hard-style action vehicle, the project focuses on high-stakes protection. Reeves now leads this production, which maintains its original vision of intense action and suspenseful storytelling.
