Tamil Nadu Begins Assistance For Victims Of Vietnam Boat Tragedy, Contacts Indian Embassy For Help

The Tamil Nadu government directed the Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Department to assist victims of a speedboat capsizing near Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. The Indian Embassy confirmed fifteen Indian tourists died in the tragedy. Over 20 people from Tamil Nadu, reportedly mobile phone distributors on a company-sponsored reward trip, were on the boat. Officials are coordinating emergency support, identifying affected individuals, and facilitating the return of survivors and the bodies of those who lost their lives.
