Kingdom Hearts almost led to Disney making its own version of Super Smash Bros, former dev says

Former Disney Interactive concept artist Ken Christiansen confirmed that Disney briefly developed a crossover fighting game inspired by Super Smash Bros. This project was initiated after the success of Kingdom Hearts, which effectively combined various Disney characters. The company aimed to create its own version of a crossover fighter by utilizing its most popular intellectual properties, but the project ultimately never got off the ground and remained an unrealized concept within the studio.
