The summer box office is experiencing a boom driven by low-budget films. The slasher spoof Scary Movie topped ticket sales with $55 million over the weekend, surpassing Masters of the Universe. Simultaneously, in the China box office, the family drama Dear You continued its dominance from June 5–7, earning RMB115.3 million. Directed by Lan Hongchun, this cultural juggernaut has now reached a cumulative total of $238.5 million, maintaining its lead over the debut of Masters of the Universe.
