Judge dismisses suit by fired Yosemite ranger who hung trans pride flag in park

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit filed by former Yosemite national park ranger Shannon “SJ” Joslin, who was fired after hanging a transgender pride flag. US district judge Jennifer Thurston ruled that Joslin, who identifies as nonbinary, must follow the Civil Service Reform Act process. Because Joslin was a probationary employee during their termination last year, the court determined they must file a complaint with the office of special counsel to pursue their free speech claims.
