Ledger Spy Implant Scandal Prompts Mediamarkt Sales Freeze

Ledger confirmed that hardware wallets sold via Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis contained spy chip implants designed to steal recovery phrases and drain cryptocurrency. These tampered devices were available at nearly half the original price. Following these revelations, major European electronics retailer Mediamarkt Saturn has temporarily frozen sales of Ledger devices. The investigation into the hardware implants began after reports of fund losses from users who purchased wallets through the Malaysia-based retailer CryptoBilis.
