Reflecting pool turns green after $14.2m Trump renovation – video

The Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool in Washington DC turned green with algae following a $14.2 million renovation. The project, which aimed to paint the site American Flag Blue, involved a no-bid contract awarded to Atlantic Industrial Coatings. This Virginia-based company had previously worked on a swimming pool at one of Donald Trump’s golf clubs. Consequently, hydrogen peroxide was poured into the water to address the algae growth after the expensive waterproofing and painting process.
