Locarno Pro & Open Doors Winners: ‘A Vineyard For A Lobster’, ‘Accept My Plea For Burial’, ‘Spring Story’ & ‘Yazz’ Clinch Top Prizes

The Locarno Film Festival announced the winners of its Locarno Pro and Open Doors initiatives, focusing on African talent. Top prizes were awarded to Talemwa Pius for the Ugandan magic realist fable A Vineyard For A Lobster and Mohammed Sheikh for the Somalia-set critique Accept My Plea For Burial. Other winners include Aseye Fiagbe's Too Much Music from Ghana and Chapa 100. These projects received significant cash awards through the co-production platform and talent development program.
