Planned attack against Texas State Capitol in Austin thwarted by DPS and FBI, state authorities say

The FBI and Department of Public Safety thwarted a planned attack against the Texas State Capitol in Austin. According to a notice from the Secretary of the Texas State Senate, the suspect was arrested by these agencies. Texas DPS confirmed the individual is currently held on felony terroristic charges. Authorities reported that the suspect had allegedly planned to carry out the attack this Thursday, but the credible threat was successfully halted by state and federal officials.
