Spokane wildfire suspect previously convicted in father’s killing

Aaron F. Farinacci was arrested Monday on suspicion of first-degree arson for intentionally starting the Old Trails Fire, the largest of several catastrophic wildfires in Spokane, Washington. The fires destroyed hundreds of buildings and displaced tens of thousands of residents. Farinacci, who is currently jailed on a $1M bond, has a prior criminal history, having previously served a prison sentence for the 2010 manslaughter of his father in Arizona, according to official reports.
