Man killed, woman wounded in shooting near Promontory Point in Hyde Park, Chicago police say

Chicago police are investigating two separate shooting incidents. In Hyde Park, a 25-year-old man died and a 25-year-old woman was wounded after gunfire hit their parked vehicle on South Shore Drive. The woman remains in fair condition. Separately, in Uptown, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the neck while sitting in a vehicle on North Winthrop Avenue. Area 1 and Area 3 detectives are currently investigating both cases following the incidents.
